I just wanted to share that I've had a pretty good day. Which is encouraging, because I've not been doing so well on my healthiness journey the past few weeks.
Today, I worked out at work. I'm trying to incorporate work-day workouts into my routine, but it's such a struggle. I have intentions to work out over lunch, but I get caught up on a phone call, or a project, and I put it off. I have intentions to work out before I go home for the day, but I keep working because I need/want to pound through my to-do list. And, since I'm the daycare pick-up person, I can't stay late. Perhaps it would be best to work our first thing in the morning, before I even walk into my cube.
But today, I worked out at work! At 3:30 pm (1 hour before my official "quittin' time") I gathered up all of my stuff and headed to the gym downstairs. And I got a nice workout in.
I think it's very likely that my workout is most of the reason that I haven't completely thrown my day away this evening. Dinner these days is usually a slap-dash affair, prepared as I feed my daughter her dinner. It's not an "experience." It's generally not memorable and forgotten as soon as I throw the packaging away. And that leads to a nighttime of snacking. After my daughter goes to bed between 7:30 and 8 pm, I often prowl the kitchen gobbling up snacks such as fiber bars (140 calories each), ice cream sandwiches, spoonfuls of peanut butter and more. Tonight -- nothing. I walked by that peanut butter, gazed at it longingly, but turned it down. I'm pretty proud of myself right now!
